He Gets Us is a campaign to invite people to reconsider Jesus and why he matters today. In a world full of noise, we want to create a space where anyone can come as they are, ask hard questions, and explore without fear of judgment. We don’t pretend to have all the answers. Instead, He Gets Us invites curiosity, openness, and learning alongside others. We hope you’ll join us.
Who is He Gets Us for?
He Gets Us invites everyone—whether you identify as a Christian, don’t follow any faith, or are somewhere in between—to reconsider Jesus, his life and teachings, and why he matters today. We know many people have stepped away from organized religion and/or are open to spirituality, but don’t know where to start. We invite everyone to explore Jesus’ story on their own terms and at their own pace.
Is He Gets Us trying to get people to go to church?
No, He Gets Us is not a back to church campaign. We believe there is something in the story of Jesus for everyone. For some, the journey to explore Jesus might begin in a church and for others, it might start in a different place. Regardless, we’re excited about people exploring Jesus in their own way and at their own pace.

Who is behind He Gets Us?
He Gets Us is led by Come Near, a group of people moved to raise the public conversation about Jesus. The He Gets Us campaign is not affiliated with any single individual, political position, or faith denomination. Our creators, partners, and supporters represent a variety of faith journeys, lived experiences, and perspectives, all of which contribute to the work we have produced to date. We all share one common goal: to invite people to rethink their perception of Jesus and what he could mean for us today.
Is He Gets Us affiliated with a specific faith or denomination?
He Gets Us is about Jesus so it certainly shares an affiliation with Christianity. The campaign isn’t from any one denomination, tradition, church, political party, or viewpoint. Our goal is an honest exploration of Jesus, his life and teachings, as expressed in the Bible, to understand his impact today.
What is He Gets Us’ stance on LGBTQ+ individuals?
We want to be clear: Jesus loves LGBTQ+ people just like he loves everyone else. No matter who you are, you are welcome here to explore Jesus’ story and his example of kindness, love, and forgiveness.
Who does He Gets Us believe Jesus is?
We believe there is something in the story of Jesus for everyone.
That’s why fans of the project and those working on it include people who are curious about this man and his story and want to explore it for themselves, those reconstructing their faith and aren’t quite sure yet, and those who believe Jesus is the son of God. We’re all on a journey together.
It wouldn’t be hard to guess that many of those collaborating with He Gets Us believe that Jesus is who the Bible says he is. He Gets Us is led by Come Near, a group who believes that Jesus was human and divine, he rose from the dead, and more.
