less than a min.

“What are you sick of?”

We asked that question to over 2,000 people in a nationally representative quantitative survey November 9–12, 2024. Turns out, 97% of the nation agrees on one thing: we’re all sick of something.

It got us wondering if the things we’re “sick of” are new. We know Jesus hung out with discontented people, were they sick of the same things we are today? The majority of survey respondents said they think people in Jesus' time were sick of other things.

"People in Jesus' time were sick of

different things than we are today."

We did a little digging, and it turns out, misinformation, violence, and politics and government are the most common things that we’re sick of today, but not one of them is unique to the 21st century. Jesus not only taught people who were sick of these things ... he lived through them himself too. Jesus’ teachings came from a place of empathy, and he could address the root of people’s discontent with his teachings.
